Lachlan Irvine
I started writing songs in 2015, when I was well into my sixties, although my poetry has been studied in schools and used in commemorative services for decades.
I write love songs, fun songs, political satire songs, blues songs, and songs that have been inspired by my service in the Vietnam War. Those “war” songs are particularly important to me, because it’s a way to add to my many years of voluntary work in the veteran community, which began with the Agent Orange campaign in the 1980s, during which I was National Secretary of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia.
